Featured Double Exposure captured on the OneStep+ camera by Tori Sviokla.
Anything can happen on Halloween. Just ask Tim Curry. On a night where even the spookiest becomes possible, you need to have a way of capturing the moment, if only to prove it happened. The OneStep+ might be our spookiest camera yet, with features that seem devilishly designed to make the most of Halloween. The instant film community has been experimenting to produce this collection of barely believable images of witches, ghouls and ghosts (or at least, people dressed up as them). They’re ready for anything. Unless a vampire turns up. Cameras don’t work with vampires. Take that as an official Polaroid Originals disclaimer: does not work with the undead.
The OneStep+ is the first Polaroid Originals camera capable of producing seamless double exposures using the Polaroid Originals app. And if you’re not doing that this Halloween, then you’re missing a trick (and a treat). By taking two images and juxtaposing them together, you can create spectral shots that seem to bring out the ghost in all of us. If you’re the sort of person who wears a sheet over your head and calls it a ghost costume, then you need to up your game: an eerie double exposure can do just that.
Once you’ve exposed your ghost – then it’s time to start light painting. At the time of year when magic can really happen, what better time to make things appear out of thin air. Using a long exposure and a flashlight, you can create otherworldly images with light. After all, everyone knows that the scary bit of horror movies lies in what you can’t see. Is it the monster, or is it just a trick of the light?
Finally, the OneStep+ offers a portrait lens as well as the standard viewfinder, allowing you to get closer to your subjects than ever before. We’ve also created a brand new filter set to add a creepy red or yellow cast to your images. So when you’ve put so much effort into your costume, you know that it will be captured for all eternity in the best possible detail. Whether you want to get up close and personal with some of the freaks and ghouls that you might encounter at a Halloween Party or not is entirely up to you.
