You know the feeling: when the itch to finally see those bands live becomes unbearable. Don’t fight it, it’s one of the summer symptoms: the festival season is upon us after all. There’s no better time to get the tent out of the attic and your film out of the fridge! We selected our top festivals for you to chose from and visit with your Polaroid camera this summer. Your instant film enjoys a lot of sunshine too, you know. Book those flights and get ready to create memories to last you a lifetime.

Could you have a festival that’s 8 minutes from a capital city, and also only 10 minutes from the beach? If yes, then book your flights to Portugal to enjoy NOS Alive, with a delicious line-up full of rock classics and newbies alike. The festival also has a Green Seal (Sê-Lo Verde, in Portuguese), ensuring biodegradable cups, recyclables collection and electric vehicles throughout.

What started out in 2002 as a Groove Armada party now has a huge following and a new London park to call home, Gunnersbury Park. If you’re heading to Lovebox Festival get ready to dance a lot, and rehearse your favorite tunes: there’s a hip-hop karaoke!

One of the biggest festivals on the Spanish coast (and actually based on a beach resort) promises big adventures and a lot of sunshine. Oh, and the best names in pop and rock music today as well, which is also good, right? Benicassim is the perfect option for those who love Glastonbury but can’t be bothered with bad weather and Wellies.

What to expect from a festival organized by one of the best music media vehicles of all time? The very best of alternative music? Check. A record fair? Check. Artwork from locals and nationals alike? Check? The 20th-anniversary special performance of ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’? CHECK. Seriously, what are you waiting for? Pitchfork Festival has something for everyone.

Active for 58 years, this is the perfect festival to enjoy peaceful scenery and a lot of good quality acoustic guitars. Newport Folk is the ideal choice for old-school folk enthusiasts and newbies too.

Created by Perry Farrell in 1991 as a farewell tour for his band Jane’s Addiction, this is now one of the most eclectic festivals in the US, and its touring qualities made people in Brazil, Germany and even Chile enjoy it as well. Lollapalooza is a classic destination for festival lovers all over the world.
